Artist Bio

Once upon a time, in the vibrant city of Wolverhampton, an aspiring illustrator named Charlotte Webb embarked on a journey fuelled by a love of storytelling and art. Earning First Class Honours in Illustration from the University of Wolverhampton, she specialised in Children’s Illustration, crafting whimsical worlds where imagination and creativity come to life.
Charlotte’s artistic adventures have taken her from painting vast, hand-rendered murals to designing intricate children’s picture books and decorative creations. In her studio at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, she brings her ideas to life with digital tools, though she often finds herself drawn back to traditional methods to rekindle her creative spark. Her trusty companions, Vincent and Frida—the feline artists-in-residence—add their own unique flair (and occasional paw prints) to her process.
Beyond the studio, Charlotte seeks inspiration far and wide. Her travels have led her to the serene landscapes of Norway, where fjords and folklore weave themselves into her sketchbook. Back in the UK, she can often be found wandering through English Heritage and National Trust sites, always in search of the perfect cup of tea and slice of cake to fuel her next masterpiece.
But her passion for stories doesn’t stop with her art. As a devoted genealogist, Charlotte has pieced together a family tree brimming with tales, tracing her lineage back to William the Conqueror, Walt Disney, Charles Darwin, and Lewis Carroll. For Charlotte, every thread of history—whether a royal ancestor or a mischievous cat—is a story waiting to be told and shared through her work.
And so, with paint-streaked hands and a heart full of ideas, Charlotte continues her mission to connect the past with the present, creating art that sparks joy, wonder, and curiosity in all who encounter it.
